The Podcasting World Embraces Steve Edge

A renowned storyteller and engaging public speaker, Steve has delighted audiences for years with his tales and insights. So it made perfect sense for him to join the current podcasting revolution.

In the past five years, podcasts have seen a surge in popularity. Recent figures suggest that as of this year, there are over 700,000 active podcasts and more than 29 million episodes, and around 7.1 million Brits – or one in eight – now listen to them. In particular, the property sector has embraced the medium, with podcasts springing up about everything from investing to trends.

Recently, Steve was invited to guest on two such podcasts.

Appearing on the Propertyshe podcast, Steve spoke with Susan Freeman of Mishcon de Reya about the shifting perceptions of branding in recent years.

From the early days – when having a brand just meant having a hastily-designed logo – to the current trends for brand storytelling, Steve discussed the property industry’s progress so far, and the steps he believes are essential for future growth.

He also shared some of our work branding the sector, including our work on Salford’s tallest building, Anaconda Cut.

The Return

Steve also guested on The Return podcast with Anna Clare Harper, co-founder of Anglo Residential.

The Return aims to help aspiring investors make savvy decisions in the UK property market, and branding plays an increasingly significant part in this.

Steve spoke about the importance of having a clear, authentic brand story, and illustrated this with examples from our own work, including The Otto, a residential development overlooking the Hackney Downs.
