Trakker

When Trakker approached us for a rebrand, we experienced the perfect coming together of Steve’s two greatest passions: design and fishing. Established in the early ‘80s, Trakker has become one of the world’s leading suppliers of carp fishing equipment, gaining a dedicated international following. They came to us wanting a refreshed identity, an engaging new website and a marque that would act as a badge of pride for fishermen the world over.

Since Trakker serves such a large proportion of the fishing community, we wanted to create an identity that represented and engaged with them. This is evident in the marque we created, which resembles both a carp fisherman’s bivvy and a fishing hook and line. In applying the marque — along with the strong supporting typography — across a range of products and packaging, we used different textures and embossing methods to maintain the distinctive Trakker green.

Reinforcing the idea of community engagement, we designed and built a new website that promotes customer interaction. We developed a homepage that allows customers to personalise their own Trakker landing page, together with a products section that uses an intuitive filtering system to help customers easily access the products they want. The site is rich with video product reviews, news posts and expert advice, so we integrated their social media accounts onto the website, driving traffic to blog, video and interactive content.

We have also recently helped Trakker launch websites in France, Germany, Poland and Italy, with translations all built into the Content Management System.

“Steve Edge Design have worked with us guiding us through a major re-brand and subsequently a new website which most recently has incorporated additional languages helping us achieve our market potential.

As well as having the ‘can do’ attitude to problem solving, a professional manner and efficiency towards business- which I expect, I get more. I get to deal with nice people which makes such a difference!”
