We were approached by Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez to create an identity that not only helped promote their upcoming annual regatta but one that would resonate for years after – doing justice to what many consider as one of the most extravagant Mediterranean regattas, which attracts competitors from all over the world.
Drawing inspiration from the infamous race of 1981, we explored themes of light, shade and motion through clean lines and contrasting, giving the regatta an iconic, modern identity while honouring its rich heritage.
Paired with a classic but complimentary typeface, we were conscious to not overpower the identity as to us, its strength lies in its simplicity.
The relationship between the colour palette and negative space of the identity became integral to creating something truly impactful and memorable.
