Coronavirus Mask and a New Competition

It’s time for a new Weekly Wisdom video from Steve.

And this week, it’s all about the importance of social distancing in keeping us safe.

As the lockdown continues, social distancing remains the best way to stop the spread of COVID-19. This means keeping at least two metres apart from other people when you leave home for your essential trips.

It’s a frustrating task; we all miss our families, friends and colleagues, and everyday joys like going to restaurants, cinemas, and pubs. But alongside washing our hands frequently, it’s still the most effective way we can protect our loved ones, our communities, and lessen the strain on our NHS.

What’s more frustrating is seeing people flouting these social distancing rules. By doing so, they risk their own wellbeing and that of everyone around them.

Inspired to find a way to stop this, Steve approached the issue the same way he approaches everything: creatively.

He came up with a plan. Then, he came up with a design.

So this week’s Weekly Wisdom proudly presents the Steve Edge coronavirus mask! It’s been specifically designed to make sure nobody comes near you. The moment you put it on, you’re sending a signal to people to stay away – keeping both you and them safe in equal measure!

What’s more, you can make your own using simple craft materials and household items.

We’ll be sharing a step-by-step photo guide to making your own Steve Edge coronavirus mask in the coming weeks; sign up to our mailing list to receive yours.

A new competition

Alongside this, we’re also launching a new coronavirus mask competition, and there are lots of ways to get involved:

  • Make or draw your own Steve Edge coronavirus mask using Steve’s guide and take a photo.
  • Make your own more conventional coronavirus mask and take a photo.
  • Take a photo of you wearing any coronavirus mask – it doesn’t have to be your own design to enter the competition.

You can send your photos to hello@steve-edge.com, tag us @steveedgedesign on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook, and we’ll share the entries for everyone to enjoy.

The winner will receive a personalised, signed copy of Steve’s latest book, No Need To Die. So get your families and children involved and start creating!

Take a look at some of our fantastic entries below.
